Tattoos
DO NOT re-bandage the tattoo after you have taken off your original bandage done by your tattoo artist
DO NOT apply vaseline, lanolin, or petroleum products your tattoo
DO NOT apply alcohol to your tattoo
DO NOT scratch, rub, or pick at your tattoo
DO NOT expose your tattoo to any direct sunlight, swim or soak in a sauna, steam bath or bathtub for two weeks
Be sure clothing touching your tattoo is soft and clean
Once your tattoo is exposed, gently wash it using just your fingers and some anti-bacterial soap to get all of the dry blood off of the surface. We NEVER recommend using a wash cloth. Pat dry with a clean towel and let air dry for 15 minutes. Then gently and sparingly apply a thin layer of H2Ocean's Aquatat. repeat 3 - 4 times a day for 7 - 10 days.
Your tattoo may peel and scab (like a sunburn) after 5 to 14 days. This is natural. DO NOT peel it. Let it fall off naturally from washing and applying your tattoo aftercare. Fresh skin will replace the dead skin. Colors may fade during the process, but will reappear win healing is complete.
Exposure to the sun is the most major cause of your tattoo fading. Sunbathing in moderation will be okay in a few months time. Always use sunblock (at least an SPF-30 sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection).
Piercings
Clean your piercing 3 - 5 times daily. DO NOT over clean your piercing. Over cleaning causes your piercing to stay open and more vulnerable to infectious bacteria.
You can use bactine, sterile saline solution, or anti-microbial soap (Use alcohol free mouth wash for tongues).
We highly recommend using H2Ocean sea salt solution for your piercing aftercare.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
Wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning, touching on or near your new piercing for any reason
Soak a cotton swab with your cleansing solution and gently clean around your piercing to remove and crust from around your jewelry
Flush out excess scab by spraying your cleansing solution directly on your piercing
Dry with disposable products such as paper towels or gauze, because cloth towels tend to harbor bacteria
WHAT IS NORMAL:
initially: some bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness, or bruising. During healing: Some discoloration, itching, secretion of a whitish-yellow fluid (not puss) that will form some crust on the jewelry. the tissue may tighten around the jewelry as it heals. Once healed: the jewelry may not move at first, DO NOT force it. If you fail to clean your piercing with your daily hygiene routine, normal but smelly bodily secretions may accumulate.
Avoid using alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, beta dine, or hibiclens. Avoid submerging the piercing in bodies of water such as lakes, pool, jacuzzis, bathtubs, etc. for the first two weeks. Avoid using any cosmetic solutions, sprays, lotions, etc. on or around the pierced area.
